Here is a list of books that I am reading this Lent:

  • The Church’s Year of Grace  by Dr. Pius Parsch (Liturgical Press, 1955-65).  In case you haven’t noticed, I seem to be a walking advertisement for this five volume set. I recommend it to everyone I know because it is quite simply one of the best books on the liturgical year.
  • The Dialogue by St. Catherine of Siena (Classics of Western Spirituality). One of the deepest and yet most accessible works of mystic literature. Written by one of the greatest Dominican saints.
  • Jesus Christ by Fr. Ferdinand Prat, SJ (Bruce Publishing).  I have recommended this two volume magnum opus many times before. I will be re-reading the second volume throughout Lent, Holy Week, and Easter Time.
