In local news, the Northwest Bach Festival will feature Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessor, K. 339. This is one of the last works that Mozart composed during his years of service to the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, Hieronymus Colloredo. It will be the featured piece on a program that also includes the music of Heinrich Schutz and two cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach.

The Northwest Bach Festival Orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Gunther Schuller and feature soloists Janet Brown, Krista River, Rockland Osgood, and Donald Wilkinson.

The concert takes place on Saturday, January 31st at 8 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral (127 E. 12th Ave.) in Spokane, WA.
