Last month, I wrote about some of my experiences with Fr. Jack Harrington, SJ, a Jesuit that lived at the Regis Community of Gonzaga University. As I have recounted elsewhere, Fr. Jack was probably one of the main inspirations for my conversion although it didn’t occur until years after he had passed away. Another Jesuit that I met on the campus at that time and who remains to this day is Fr. Paul Luger, SJ.
Fr. Luger is 96 years old today and he still manages to walk from the near northeast side of Spokane to Gonzaga almost every day. Unlike the reflective and quiet Fr. Harrington, Fr. Luger has always been one to tell a good story. He still tells them like nobody else.
Here is a story about him that was printed in the Jesuit newsletter for the Oregon Province.
