When I was living in Los Angeles, I used to listen and hum this movement of Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony to myself many times. It was one of those pieces that perfectly captured the frenetic pace of my life there in ways that I cannot reproduce.

It’s funny, but there are many pieces that bring me back to that time in my life. If I were to make a list, it would stretch for miles. If I were forced to pick just one piece of music to encapsulate my time there before the nervous breakdown, then I would choose this.

The performance is by Valery Gergiev, one of the greatest conductors alive today. Enjoy!
